Meet Caleb and Maddie

Meet Caleb and Maddie

This last August, Caleb Sturgis came to LBC to serve as our Pastoral Intern! The goal of our Pastoral Internship is to glorify God by identifying, training, testing, and affirming individuals in a local church context in order to develop the next generation of pastors and church planters. This is an exciting opportunity not just for our pastors, but for the whole church family to invest in Caleb to see the ministry of the Gospel multiplied through our church!

Since Caleb grew up at LBC, many of our members know him already. However, we wanted to provide an opportunity for our church to get to know both him and Maddie, so we asked them a few questions to help introduce them more to our church family. Take some time to learn more about the two of them and commit to get to know them better. Plan to have them into your home, pray for them as a couple, and invest in them over the next couple of years while they are with us!

MINISTRY INFORMATION
  • What do you hope to gain from this internship?
    • A better understanding of what ministry looks like for both of us
    • A clear evaluation of my giftedness and qualifications for pastoral ministry and/or church planting
    • Guidance and discipleship from mature believers
  • What about this opportunity excites you the most?
    • For me (Caleb), it is both exciting and scary to be back at the church where I used to argue with missionary kids in the nursery. I am excited to be able to come back and serve the church whose members God has greatly used to shape my life as a Christian.
    • We are excited to be a part of a church that is purposeful, where the members love being together, discipling one another.
  • How can our church pray for you two?
    • Pray that some of our neighbors and (Maddie’s) coworkers would come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
    • Pray that we would grow in our marriage, daily choosing to love, serve, and forgive each other.
    • Pray that we would faithfully steward the ministry opportunities and resources that are given to us.
