2021 Bible Reading Plans

Each year we seek to give ourselves to a simple, yet consistent reading of the Bible. For 2021, there are two different plans we are encouraging the church family to consider. ChoosE A PLAN One of these plans works through the entire Bible at multiple chapters a day, the other works through the New Testament at only one chapter a day. Visit our Treasuring Scripture Together webpage for the details on both of these plans. BOOK-AT-A-TIME READING PLAN NEW TESTAMENT…

Reading the Christmas Story

How do you explain to your non-Christian friends the significance of Christmas? Sure, they may enjoy a good nativity scene. They might love the idea of a baby born away in a manger on a silent night in the little town of Bethlehem. They may even speak about vague religious holiday sentiments like peace, hope, joy, and light. But do they really understand the story of Jesus’ birth? Do they realize that the God of the universe has personally invaded time and space and took on flesh so…

Pray. Love. Vote. Remember.

2020 just might go down as one of the most turbulent years in modern history – at least in the United States. To add to it all, our nation is choosing her next President in the midst of what may be the most hostile political environments of our time. The controversy and divisiveness surrounding this election is rampant. However, the controversy and divisiveness is not limited to NPR, CNN, and FOX News. It has hit the body of Christ with a wave of disunity…

Meet Caleb and Maddie

This last August, Caleb Sturgis came to LBC to serve as our Pastoral Intern! The goal of our Pastoral Internship is to glorify God by identifying, training, testing, and affirming individuals in a local church context in order to develop the next generation of pastors and church planters. This is an exciting opportunity not just for our pastors, but for the whole church family to invest in Caleb to see the ministry of the Gospel multiplied through our church! Since Caleb grew up at…

Operation Joy!

For several years, individual members of Lebanon Baptist Church have made an effort to adopt and support our missionary kids for the Christmas season. We do so by donating $50 per child to help provide funds to buy them Christmas gifts. We will begin receiving funds immediately! The goal is to distribute the funds to the respective mission boards before the beginning of December. Signup ends October 25. Family Ministry Resources

We’ve stated that LBC’s ministry to children and families exists to glorify God by partnering with and equipping parents to lead children to embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior and to pursue God with their whole heart. It’s easy for parents to “delegate” their responsibilities to teach and train their children to the structured programs of the local church. However, we are convinced that the discipling center for children is the home! Dads and moms are the ones that are called to tell…

Loving Church Members with Different Politics

Well … it’s that time again … election season. Once again, the division between political candidates and parties is rife! Campaign ads seem to be less geared toward promoting the virtues of particular candidates and more toward dragging their opponents through the mud. It can get pretty ugly at times. Unfortunately, this unpleasant division can tend to filter into the believer’s life and seriously impact the love and unity within a local church. So, what happens if you disagree with another…

What If I Don’t Feel Like Going to Church?

For 10 weeks, Lebanon Baptist Church did not meet together. Sure we sang some songs and we listened to sermons as we tuned into the Sunday Broadcasts from our living rooms. But it wasn’t church – we didn’t assemble (church, by its very definition, is an assembly). Even now, our in-person gatherings are limited and the assembly is still not able to fully get back together. It has certainly been a unique time. So, how has this affected you? Some…
