Fran grew up as a strict Catholic. One day, his mom gathered all the siblings and told them that their dad started attending a cult (which happened to be a Baptist Church). She warned them that sooner or later he was going to start sharing his heresies with them. Due to his constant witnessing, Fran trusted Christ at the age of 12. When he was 16, he attended his first Christian camp, and the Lord called him to the ministry.
By age 18, he was studying full-time in the Bible Institute that his father-in-law had started in Costa Rica. Fran graduated and was ordained in 1987. In 1989 he came to the USA for the first time and was able to raise support to minister as a national missionary in his home country. Daphne and he were married in 1990 and ministered for 10 years in Costa Rica. In 1999, the Lord transitioned their ministry to the USA, among the Hispanic community in Northwest Atlanta. They’ve worked in Canton Georgia over a decade and officially joined the pastoral team with Lebanon Baptist Church in 2015.
