Here is a description of the opportunities to serve. Below, you’ll find a form that will get you in contact with the individuals heading up the various service projects.
Senior Care (contact Mike Crachi)
To serve the needs of widows, widowers, and seniors of the communities surrounding the church family. Activities would include yard work, cleanup, meals, and other basic functions as needed. Typically will take place on various weekends throughout the summer.
1st Responders (contact Tom Johnson and Jon-Jay Barton)
Our first responders are people who need to be thanked and ministered to on a regular basis. Studies show that stress levels can be significantly high for those involved in these types of vocations. This group would like to prepare meals, desserts, or snack boxes to take to the various stations around our community and develop relationships with those who serve us in this way.
Community Car Wash (contact Tim Pulver and Ross Wallach)
Everyone wants their cars to be clean, and we want to provide a free car wash where people can drive up, and have their cars cleaned. Refreshments are provided as well if they want to watch the process or just enjoy chatting with some people from our church. This is a great way to talk to others about our church, their life, and just start conversations in their lives while getting their car washed for free.
Hope Pregnancy Center (contact TBD)
Women’s centers are a place for people who lack hope and help to come and find some. It would be great to have some people volunteer to help serve those working at the Hope Pregnancy Center. It may be cleaning, or organizing items in their store, more details on this opportunity will come in the next week.
Sweet Apple Common Area Clean-up (contact Brian Peterson)
Pastor Brian would like volunteers from our church to help partner with his neighborhood in cleaning up their “common area”. It will involve clearing the nature trail of branches, trees, leaves, etc. You may even be able to get on in the lake with a small boat to help clean up in the lake itself. The current dates are June 3 and July 8. Other dates may be added.
One Hope Church (contact Josh Roland)
If it becomes available we will plan to assist David Huffman and the One Hope Church as often as we can with getting the name of their church out into the community in Kennesaw. When dates and info become available we will update whoever is interested.
Prayer Project (contact Pastor Hester)
Prayer is a necessary part of our summer of service. We will be having prayer times each Wednesday night at LBC where people can come and get involved by praying for others who are serving the community.
