Situated approximately a 1/2 mile west of present day GA 400 on Holcomb Bridge Rd a small community was founded in the early 1800’s. The Lebanon community, equipped with a flourmill, saw mill, post office, and a general store, served as the key center of commerce for early Roswell settlers. In time, the Lebanon Community was absorbed by the growing city of Roswell, but the Lebanon Church has maintained it’s name from its founding. The name “Baptist” is often misinterpreted by many and tends to carry some cultural association with extreme religious fundamentalism. However, we maintain the name because the historic
Baptist position best describes and communicates our stance in matters of doctrine, faith, and practice. Historic Baptists hold to the following distinctives:
- Biblical Authority
- Autonomy of the Local Church
- Priesthood of the Believer
- Two Ordinances: Baptism (Immersion) and Lord’s Supper
- Individual Soul Liberty
- Saved, Baptized Church Membership
- Two Offices: Pastors and Deacons
- Separation of Church and State
If you would like to learn more about Lebanon Baptist Church, we invite you take part in our 6 week class that looks into who we are and what we believe as a church.
9:15 a.m. – Adult Bible Classes (LifeStages) / Sunday School
10:30 a.m. – Morning service
6:00 p.m. – Sunday evening service
We have a well-staffed nursery available during all regularly scheduled church events for infants and toddlers.
While it is not required, it is recommended that parents take advantage of our trained childcare providers and bible teachers on Sunday morning, both for the children’s benefit and those adults in worship. Both will have teaching geared to their understanding level.
Every worker in our children’s ministry goes through a thorough nationwide background screening as well a mandatory training before being permitted to serve with any minor. Each nursery and preschool child is tagged when dropped off and the parent must produce a matching tag for the child to be released.
If you have further questions about our policies and procedures for any of our children’s ministry, please contact the church office.
and we will be glad to provide full details.
